Possible Maintance

Question: Good morning! I was part of the Tighter Together Challenge and received numbers from Madeline Moves. I have had great results through about a 10 week cut. I am shifting towards a maintance phase and was able to purchase the Macros 101 course after reading about you in LillieEatsAndTells posts and have learned so much. I was wondering if I should slowly work up into my maintenance numbers that I calculated during that session. I do 1-2 hours of training daily with runs and Madeline Moves. I am considering signing up for a short term coach to learn more and adjust because my results have been so amazing.

Answer: Great job with your 10 week cut! Yes, after a cut a Reverse Diet is needed to slowly increase calories back to maintenance. There is a lot of information on Reverse Dieting in the Macros 101 Module 4 and on the BAB Radio Podcast episode 9, 10 and 42.

Thighs Getting Larger

Question: Hi! I have been counting macros since last January and I have only been doing the Madeline Moves workout 5 days/week. I have noticed that my clothes fit, but my pants are getting tighter in the butt and thigh area. I do not want this to happen. I know I am putting on muscle, but I don’t like the fact that these parts of me are getting bigger. Is this something that is temporary and things will even out? I am debating if I should change my workouts. Thank you!

Answer: It is hard to say what is happening exactly with the limited information given. Are you taking flexing measurements and pictures to ensure it is muscle? Bottom line - you are taking a certain action that is creating a certain result. If you do not like the result then you need to change the action.

Build Your Own Workout

Question: How or where do I find more information about the build your own workout (I think that is what it's called)? I was part of the April Macros 101 group and I'm ending my cut Sept. 4th. I purchased a Peloton in May and have been focusing on more cardio (I have done some strength classes on the Peloton app). I do have some gym equipment at home and have spent years working out so I have some basic knowledge.

Can I cut in early pregnancy?

Question: I’m in Beyond Macros but i didn’t see a place to ask an anonymous question there...
I just found out that I’m pregnant but had started a cut after a reverse/maintenance period the week before! Can I continue my 12 week cut and still have compositional changes in the first trimester or is it best to go back to maintenance? I’m about 20-25lbs heavier than I was at the beginning of my last 3 pregnancies my goal won’t necessarily be to lose weight, but to lose fat. Is it possible?

Answer: Each pregnancy and each body is different. It is best to have this conversation with your Physician.

Answer: When you cancel your monthly subscription from Beyond Macros 101 you will no longer have access to Mastering Maintenance. However, Mastering Maintenance is available for purchase on it's own.

Surgical procedure during a cut

Question: Hi! I have to have a surgical procedure (hysteroscopy) during my planned 12 week cut. It’s a same day procedure with minimal recovery time (I think?) and a few incisions. Am I okay to continue my cut?

Answer: Always listen to your body especially when it needs to heal from an injury or surgery. Your body may need more calories during that time in order to heal and that's great! It also wouldn't hurt to speak to your Doctor to get their recommendations in regards to your recovery.
