Am I pushing my body too much?

Uncategorized Feb 14, 2020

Question: I currently weigh 216 with about 29% body fat. I have been doing a workout program that I love for 6 months where the workouts are about 1 hour a day 6 days a week. I've been tracking macros pretty consistently for 5 of the 6 months with two rounds of a cut in there including carb cycling which I do not like;) I'm struggling with losing fat. I feel so much stronger and I feel so good but I am not losing fat to save my life specifically in my mid section. my macros are 197 carbs 160 protein and 59 fat calories 1959. The last time I had significant weight loss getting below 200 was with keto which I hated but saw results and then rebounded big time and blew up to 216. My question is where am I going wrong? Why can't I get this midsection to budge at all!!

Answer: First, if you don't like carb cycling, don't do it. There is no research that show that It improves anything with fat loss. I always tell clients, if you like it, keep doing it. But if you don't, skip it.

Workouts

Uncategorized Feb 03, 2020

Question: So I am still working on the videos for the macros, but I am wondering if you do any workout programs? I am getting stuck on my lifting and needing some help.

Answer: I highly suggest you take the first 2-3 week of learning how to track macros and just continue your regular routine when it comes to exercise. Trying to change too many things at once often leads to overwhelm and quitting. Once you feel like you have gotten over the learning curve with macros and it's feeling easier, that's when you can start tweaking your exercise. At that time I can make recommendations about your workouts.

Macros

Uncategorized Feb 03, 2020

Question: Hi- For some reason when I did the calculations on my protein fat and carbs- my carbs were extremely high- my protein was 87, fat 29, and carbs was 200- I eat 1550 calories a day total 10, 850- not sure why my numbers are off

Answer: It's really difficult to troubleshoot this without a ton more information, but I will try!

First, have you watched the FB live I did on setting your macros? In that video I talk about some tips and general advice for setting your numbers. One of the things I discuss is how your macros will be easier to hit if:

*Your fats are above 38 g
*Your carbs are above 100 g
*Your protein is between 100 g - 140 g

Watch the whole live to hear more details about these guidelines. It DOES NOT mean you are "wrong" if you aren't following all of these.

Knowing that - how would you keep the same calories while increasing your fats and protein to be in the ranges I give above?
